Rick Fox
Bio
Rick Fox has lived in many different neighborhoods in the city and has been a lifelong student of New York and its history. He can discuss NYC in details that go well beyond the current market conditions, and is on top of the latest trends. Rick came to NY in his early 20s as a jazz pianist. Over the years, he developed into a music director, conductor and arranger with several Broadway shows to his credit. Unsurprisingly in his real estate practice, he has represented artists, performers, and other creatives, as well as first-time buyers and seasoned investors.
A member of The Rubin Team, Rick works alongside his wife Michele, also a Douglas Elliman agent and a longtime musician. Together they treat clients with utmost care, respect, and dedication. As a natural collaborator, Rick believes a real estate transaction is the ultimate collaboration. He has the experience, drive and resourcefulness to guide his clients through a very complicated and potentially stressful process, striving to make it seamless with accurate information and sound guidance.
“I try to break things down in ways that are easy to understand, and I back it up with data. But I personalize my approach to each individual. Some people love data; they can’t get enough of charts. For others, it’s an emotional undertaking, and they’ve placed their trust in me to look out for their best interest. Communication and listening are key in every relationship and transaction.”
Rick works primarily in Manhattan but has also done deals in Brooklyn. He’s closed sales and rentals in most areas of the city, and because he lives in Harlem, has more knowledge of Upper Manhattan than a lot of agents. You deserve an organized, detailed agent who can navigate the intricacies of a deal effortlessly. Rick feels it’s his duty to provide that insight and expertise, while letting you, the client, set the tone.
Originally from Canada, Rick holds Canadian and U.S. citizenship. He was born and raised in Ontario and Vancouver, attended Guidhall School of Music in London, England, and has spent his adult life between NY and Toronto.
